The San Francisco office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Clear Lake Yacht and Golf Club in September 2003, in the U.S. District Court for the California Northern District. Complainants alleged that the defendant subjected them to discrimination based on their sex and sexual harassment. After the court submitted the case to mediation, the parties reached a settlement. The court entered a consent decree in June 2004.
The three year consent decree included an anti-discrimination provision, an anti-retaliation provision, one all-day sexual harassment training session, and the termination of two employees. The defendant also must pay the charging parties a total of $75,000 in compensatory damages (evenly distributed).
The decree was entered in 2004 and scheduled to last 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is presumably closed.
