The New Orleans District Office of the EEOC filed this suit against Higbee Company, who was doing business as Dillards Department Stores, in February of 2003, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The suit alleged sex and age discrimination. The complainant, who intervened, alleged that Higbee discharged her from her position as a "Polo Specialist" and replacing her with a male who was 22 years younger than her. Ultimately the case was settled on March 24, 2004. The details of the settlement or other aspects of the case are not available at this time.
