The Philadelphia District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Continental Casualty, a subsidiary of CNA Insurance Companies, Inc., in September of 1999, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The only document available from PACER is the docket, which provides little insight into the allegations of the complaint and the ultimate terms of the outcome. The complainants did intervene in this case and then it appears that there was an issue with the amendments and scheduling conferences. The magistrate ordered a settlement conference, which ultimately lead to a settlement. The court dismissed the action with prejudice after the settlement was reached, but not finalized. The settlement agreement was actually entered into in early January 2001. The case was then finally dismissed in February of 2001 after both parties stipulated to its dismissal.
