In September 2002, the Philadelphia office of the EEOC brought this ADEA against Rice Cohen International in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the claimant by refusing to hire him to the Federal Accounts Manager position because of his age (52). The case settled by entry of a consent decree in October 2003.
The two year consent decree required the defendant to refrain from discrimination and retaliation, pay the claimant $40,000, post notice, and provide training for its Executive Recruiters and any other managers it chooses on issues concerning refusal to hire based on age or retaliation.
