The Kansas City and St. Louis Offices of the EEOC filed this action in the District Court for the Western District of Missouri. The Defendant was Bock Transportation, Inc., an over-the-road trucking company. The controversy involved the alleged sexual harassment of a female employee and discrimination in pay and benefits on the basis of sex in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The lawsuit was filed in September of 2000 and was eventually resolved by consent decree in October of 2001. The complainant, who did not intervene in the case, was awarded $22,500 and a guarantee of positive references. In addition, the company did a training seminar and the company had to post a Notice and report all related complaints to the EEOC. The decree was to last for two years.
