The San Francisco office of the EEOC brought this action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, against Signature Flight Support Corporation. The complaint, filed in March 2005, alleged race discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; specifically that the charging party had been subjected to differential terms and conditions employment, discipline and demotion based on his race (African American).
The case was referred to private ADR in June 2005 and the parties settled in February 2006. The settlement agreement was valid for one year and provided that the Defendant pay the charging party $275,000, provide EEO training to its managers and supervisors regarding discrimination, and make regular reports (every 3 months) to the EEOC concerning any internal complaints of discrimination. Defendant was also enjoined from retaliating against any employee in violation of Title VII.
The decree was entered in November 2006 and scheduled to last until November 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
