The Houston Office of the EEOC filed this action in the District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The defendant was Dolgencorp of Texas, which is also known as Dollar General, a nationwide retailer. The controversy involved the alleged sexual harassment of a female employee. The lawsuit was filed in September of 2004 and was eventually resolved by consent decree in February of 2006.
This case was resolved with a payment of $35,000 to the complainant, who had intervened in the case. In addition, the Defendant had to provide a onetime training program, a neutral reference, and a new internal complaint system.
The decree was entered in 2006 and scheduled to last 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
