The Seattle office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Idaho Peterbilt in September 2002, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the charging parties because of their sex (male) which caused them to be constructively discharged from their employment. The parties settled the suit by entry of a consent decree in May 2003.
The five year consent decree required the defendant to pay charging parties $80,000 in total, comply with Title VII (specifically refrain from discrimination/retaliation and improve existing anti discriminatory policies), expunge the record of the charging parties, provide neutral references, institute a zero-tolerance policy, improve complaint procedures, design a policy to promote supervisor accountability, provide training, give bi-annual reports to the EEOC on compliance with the decree, and post notice during the decree. The docket sheet does not show any further enforcement; the case was presumably closed in 2008.
