The EEOC's Denver district office sued The Denver Newspaper Agency LLP, the publisher of the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, on September 14, 2004 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. The EEOC's complaint is unavailable, however Judge Walker D. Miller's order concerning both parties' motions for summary judgment (filed by the defendant against the EEOC and intervenor on April 10, 2006 and by the EEOC against the defendant on April 11, 2006) briefly summaries the causes of action. The EEOC alleged that DNA violated Title VII when it discriminated against the intervenor, who intervened in November 2004, when it terminated her based on her pregnancy. Judge Miller resolved the summary judgment motions in February 2007 allowing DNA's summary judgment motions to all but the claims of wrongful discharge. The parties engaged in settlement conferences before Magistrate Judge Michael E. Hegarty in October 2006 and March 2007. On March 14, 2007, the parties achieved a settlement and the case was dismissed on April 27, 2007. The contents of the settlement agreement are unknown.
