Title IX, Sexual Violence Investigations/Resolutions

Title IX of the Educational Amendments Act of 1972 provides that "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." In recent years, the U.S. Department of Education has conducted many investigations and resolved many cases alleging that sexual violence on college campuses constitutes gender discrimination, unlawful under Title IX. A more comprehensive list/set of materials on those cases is available at the Department of Education's FOIA page. Here, we post information about some of them of the greatest interest.
