The EEOC's Raleigh and Charlotte offices filed this suit on September 25, 2003 in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina (Charleston). The EEOC alleged that defendant Hoover Chrysler, Inc. violated Title VII by subjecting female employees to a sexually hostile work environment. Two of the complainants intervened.
A consent decree was entered on February 24, 2005. The defendant agreed to pay a total of $86,500 to the complainants. Defendant also agreed to develop an anti-discrimination policy, provide training for its employees and allow the EEOC access to inspect it during the two-year decree.
The decree was entered in 2005 and scheduled to last 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
