The San Antonio District Office of the EEOC brought this action in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, against Personacare of San Pedro, d/b/a San Pedro Manor. The complaint, filed in July 2000, alleged sex discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; specifically that Defendant subjected the charging party to sexual harassment because of her sex, female. The parties entered into a consent decree in August 2000.
The decree, valid for one year, required Defendant to pay the charging party $5,000. Defendant was enjoined from discriminating in violation of Title VII and required to post a notice of non-discrimination at its facility and provide Title VII training to its employees.
