The Houston Office of the EEOC filed this action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The Defendants were River Oaks Diagnostics and other associated companies, a network of outpatient radiology centers. The controversy involved the alleged sexual harassment of five women, and retaliation against one for her complaints in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The lawsuit was filed in November 2001 and was resolved by consent decree six days later. The complainants, who did not intervene in the case, were awarded an undisclosed amount of money and were guaranteed neutral references. In addition, the company agreed to provide a training seminar for all managers, to post and circulate a Notice, and to not re-hire the accused supervisor or to provide him with a positive reference. The decree was to last for five years, but it was dissolved at the request of all parties in March 2004.
