In September 2005, the Tampa Area Office and Miami District Office of the EEOC and Florida chapter of the ACLU filed this lawsuit against Diversified Behavioral Health Solutions, Inc., formerly known as Central Florida Youth Services, Inc., in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida alleging discrimination on the basis of sex, female, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Specifically, the complaint alleged that the defendants created a sexually hostile work environment through verbal statements made to the complaining parties. The complaining parties intervened in the lawsuit in January 2006. Following some discovery, the Court entered a default judgment against the defendant in October 2007. The defendant was required to pay $158,997.59 to the complaining parties. The issue of attorney's fees was still under litigation at the time this case was received; therefore, the total amount the defendant was required to pay and the amount of fees and costs awarded is unknown.
