In September 2000, the Newark office of the EEOC brought this suit against Nicholas Markets in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. The defendant filed a motion for summary judgment, which was denied. The parties apparently settled the case, and the court ordered the dismissal of the case in November 2002, but the case reopened because the parties could not reach settlement. After reopening, the parties eventually reached a settlement agreement in June 2003. Information on the nature of the suit and the consent decree is unavailable.
