In September 1997, the Charlotte District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Ryland Building Systems, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. The only document publicly available regarding this case is the docket; therefore, the exact allegations involved are unknown. The parties settled almost immediately, filing a proposed consent decree with the court on the same day that the complaint was filed. The court approved the decree in early October 1997 about a week after it was filed.
