In September 2006, the Denver Field Office, Albuquerque Area Office, and Phoenix District Office of the EEOC filed this lawsuit against restaurant Jobec, Inc. (doing business as McDonald's), Colorado Hamburger Company, Inc., Farmington Hamburger Company, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, alleging discrimination on the basis of gender, female, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Specifically, the complaint alleged the defendants subjected the complaining parties to a hostile work environment. The complaining parties intervened in the lawsuit in December 2006. Following some discovery, the parties settled the lawsuit in February 2008 through a consent decree.

The three-year decree, containing anti-discrimination and retaliation provisions, required the defendants to: report complaints and make compliance reports, allow the EEOC access for monitoring, apologize to the complainants and provide them with neutral references, develop an anti-discrimination policy, post and distribute notice of employee rights, provide EEO training, implement a complaint resolution process, and pay $505,000 to four complaining parties and their attorney. The docket sheet doesn't show show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2011.
