The Miami Office of the EEOC filed this action in the District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The Defendant was Sea World of Florida, Inc., an aquatic wildlife theme park. The controversy involved the alleged sexual harassment of three complainants, and the constructive discharge of one of them in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The lawsuit was filed in June 1999 and was eventually resolved by consent decree in March 2000. The complainants, who did not intervene in the case, was awarded a total $109,856.25, with two of them receiving $36,000 each and the other (who had alleged constructive discharge) receiving $37,856.25.
