In September 1999 the EEOC brought this suit against Loomis Fargo, Co. d/b/a Loomis Armored, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. The complaint is unavailable, but court documents show that the EEOC alleged that the defendant subjected female employees at its San Antonio facility to a sexually hostile work environment, which resulted in the constructive discharge of some of the female employees.
In January 2000 the defendant filed a motion to dismiss, but the motion was denied. The case was settled by the entry of a consent decree in March 2000. In the three-year decree, three female complainants were awarded $58,000.00. The defendant was required to refrain from sex-based discrimination, post a notice of its anti-discrimination policy, and provide anti-sexual harassment training to supervisors and managers at its San Antonio facility.
