The Seattle District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Parrish Communications Cabling, Inc. in March 1999 in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. According to the consent decree, the complaint alleged that the Defendant violated Title VII because it did not hire a female applicant because of her sex. There were no major procedural events, and the parties entered into a consent decree in April 2000. The consent decree required the Defendant to continue to not discriminate or retaliate based on sex; conduct at least six hours of annual training; and post and distribute a notice of employee rights under Title VII, the ADEA, the EPA, and the ADA. The complainant received $15,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.
