Case Summary

In April 2001, the Baltimore District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Ford Motor Company in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The only document publicly available regarding this case is the docket; therefore, the exact allegations involved are unknown. However, it appears from the docket that the complaint alleged sexual harassment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. A charging party intervened in the suit in November 2001. After some discovery disputes, the defendant filed a motion for summary judgment in January 2002 which was never resolved. The parties took part in a settlement conference later that month. After some additional discovery disputes, the parties finally settled in March 2002 through a consent decree, the contents of which are unknown.
