The Indianapolis office of the EEOC brought this case against Carpenter Industries LLC and Carpenter Industries, Inc. in February 2008 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. The case was settled by entry of consent decree in January 2000, though neither the complaint nor the consent decree from this case is available. The case was reopened in April 2000, and after fairness hearings regarding the settlement, the judge confirmed the terms of the consent decree and went on to close the case again in August 2001.
