The Miami District Office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Pizza of Florida, Inc. d/b/a ABC Pizza in March 2003, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The complaint alleged that the defendant's General Manager subjected the charging parties to sexual harassment because of their sex, resulting in constructive discharge. The parties settled the case by entry of a consent decree in October 2003.
The consent decree included an anti-discrimination provision, institution of anti-harassment policies and training, notice to potential claimants, and a lump sum payment to the $325,000 ($225,000 as compensation for state claims, and compensatory and punitive damages for identified aggrieved individuals and $100,000 in compensatory and punitive damages for claimants who worked for defendant between April and December of 2002).
