In September 2002 the Tampa, FL and Miami, FL offices of the EEOC brought this suit against Allied Plastics Co., Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. In its complaint, the EEOC alleged on behalf of four female complainants that the defendant subjected them to sexual harassment and constructive discharge in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The four female complainants intervened in the suit in November 2002 and added the alleged harasser as a defendant to the suit.
The case was eventually settled by the entry of a consent decree in May 2004. In the three-year decree, the defendants were required to pay $200,000.00, representing attorneys' fees, costs, and monetary awards to the complainants. Additionally, the defendant was required to provide annual sexual harassment training to its managers and supervisors and report complaints to the EEOC on a semi-annual basis.
The decree was entered in 2004 and scheduled to last 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
