Case Summary

In September 2001 the Charlotte office of the EEOC brought this suit against Li'l Cricket Stores, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. The complaint is unavailable, however court documents indicate that the EEOC alleged that the defendant failed to accommodate the religious beliefs and request for accommodations of an employee.

The defendant filed a motion for summary judgment in May 2002, which was denied in September 2002. The case was settled by the entry of a consent decree in November 2002. In the five-year decree, the defendant was required to pay the charging party $15,000.00. Additionally, the defendant was required to post notice, provide Title VII training to its management, and report to the EEOC on a semi-annual basis.

The decree was entered in 2002 and scheduled to last 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
