In September 2002, the Wilmington District Office of the EEOC brought this lawsuit against Ron's Mobile Homes Inc., Ron's Auto World Inc. and RRM Management Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. We do not have a copy of the complaint; therefore, the exact allegations involved are unknown. However, it appears from the consent decree that the complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the five charging parties on the basis of sex, female, by creating a sexually hostile work environment. Approximately one month before trial, the parties settled the lawsuit through a consent judgment in September 2006.
The five-year consent decree, containing a non-discrimination and non-retaliation clause, required the defendant to: provide only specified information about the complainants, develop an anti-discrimination policy, post and distribute notice of employee rights at its business facilities, implement a dispute resolution mechanism, provide training for supervisors and employees involved in the defendant's discrimination examination process, make regular compliance reports and pay $60,000 to be distributed among five individuals. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2011.
