The Dallas District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Valor Communications Group (dba Valor Telecommunications) in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in September 2005. The complaint alleged that the Defendant violated Title VII by failing to promote an employee because she was African-American and female. The complainant intervened in the EEOC's suit, and the case was tried to a jury. In September 2006 the jury found that race and sex were not motivating factors in the Defendant's decision not to promote the complainant.
