Case Summary

In May 2005, the Little Rock and Memphis offices of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Guaranteed Auto Financing, Inc. d/b/a Auto Masters in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. After the defendant filed a motion for summary judgment, the case settled by entry of a consent decree in March 2006.

The three year consent decree required the defendant to refrain from discrimination and retaliation, provide Title VII training for its managers and supervisors, post notice, pay the claimant $55,000 in damages, and provide neutral references for the claimant. The docket sheet shows that no further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2009.
