In August 2001, the EEOC's Dallas office filed this suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against Minority Opportunity News, Inc. alleging violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Specifically, the EEOC alleged that the defendant demoted and discharged an employee based on her sex and status as pregnant. In January 2001 the parties stipulated to a dismissal and the case was closed.
