The EEOC's Charlotte office filed this suit on September 6, 2006 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, Statesville Division. On behalf of a female complainant, the EEOC alleged sexual harassment and retaliation in violation of Title VII by defendant Karemore Healthcare Services, LLC, doing business as Right at Home. After filing of the complaint and subsequent answer, the case quickly settled. A consent decree was entered on February 27, 2007
In the consent decree the defendant agreed to pay the complainant $2,500, expunge her employment record, and provide her with a positive job reference. The defendant also agreed to provide two sexual harassment training sessions for its employees, report to the EEOC regarding future complaints, and allow the EEOC access to confirm continued compliance. The decree was to last for four years. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2011.
