In March 2006, the Baltimore (along with the Atlanta) office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against the Colonial Properties Trust, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the claimant by failing to hire her because of her pregnancy. The claimant intervened in the EEOC's suit in September 2006. The case settled by entry of a consent decree in March 2007.
The two year consent decree required the claimant to refrain from discrimination and retaliation, post notice, instruct all managerial and supervisory employees on the terms of the consent decree, give the EEOC reports every six months on any complaints of sex discrimination that it receives, provide all managerial and supervisory employees with Title VII training, and pay the claimant $48,000 in damages and attorney's fees. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2009.
