In October 2005, the Seattle District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Federal Express Corporation in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington alleging discrimination on the basis of sex in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Specifically, the defendant allegedly refused to transfer the charging party, a female employee, to the position she requested because of her sex. After a status conference and some scheduling orders, the parties settled in January 2007, voluntarily dismissing the case. We do not have a copy of the settlement agreement; therefore, the exact terms of the agreement are unknown.
