In September 1999, the EEOC's Indianapolis office filed this action in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky against GTE South Incorporated. Although the only document available for this summary was the docket, there was a significant amount of discovery done during 2000 and several discovery disputes towards the end of 2000. The defendant moved for summary judgment in August 2000 but was denied in November of that same year. The parties had proposed jury instruction in December 2000 but eventually moved to dismiss the action because they had reached a settlement agreement in February 2001.
