In December 1999, the Seattle office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Fidelity Financial Services of Idaho, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the claimant by subjecting her to harassment because of her sex (female), retaliation, and constructive discharge. The case settled by entry of a settlement agreement in January 2001.
The fifteen month settlement agreement required the defendant to pay the claimant $52,500, refrain from retaliation, establish policies and procedures (including an internal complaint procedure) to prevent discrimination, provide one and a half hour training for human resource managers, managers, and employees on Title VII, give the EEOC a report on compliance, and post notice.
