In April 1999, the EEOC's Miami office filed this action in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida alleging that Pizza Hut of America, Inc. had violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 when a manager in Cape Coral, Florida created a hostile work environment for female employees, causing them to be constructively discharged. The case was referred to mediation in March 2000 but the results of that are unknown. The case was ultimately dismissed with prejudice in June 2000 after the parties reached a settlement agreement which was not available for this summary.
