In February 2006, the EEOC office in Seattle, Washington brought this suit against Kraft Foods Global, Inc. (doing business as Nabisco, Inc.), a world wide food manufacturer, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho. A disabled female alleged that the defendant violated Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) when it terminated her employment after it refused to accommodate her disability.
A consent decree was entered in October 2006. The parties agreed that the defendant would pay the aggrieved party $50,000, refrain from discriminating on the basis of disability, institute and anti-discrimination policy, perform performance reviews for individual EEO compliance, review and distribute its existing EEO policies, expunge the complainant's personnel file, implement a supervisor accountability policy, make the commitment to EEO policies a hiring/promotion criteria for supervisors and managers, post EEO notices, and submit semiannual complaint/compliance reports. No fees or costs were awarded. The terms of the decree run for two years. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2008.
