In June 2001, the EEOC district office in Memphis, Tennessee brought this suit against the Eastman Chemical Company in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. The complaint is currently unavailable. The docket suggests that the case was brought under Title VII. A single female complainant intervened in the case. After a defense motion to compel was granted and a defense motion for summary judgment was pending, the parties decided to settled the case. A settlement agreement was entered in January 2003.
