The St. Louis District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against DiamlerChrysler, which operates an automotive plant outside of St. Louis, in May of 2005, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. The EEOC alleged Chrysler discriminated against the complainant in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, when they failed to give him a reasonable accommodation and discharged him due to his disability. The complainant intervened. The case was ordered to mediation, which proved to be unsuccessful. Chrysler filed an unsuccessful motion for summary judgment. On the day the trial was scheduled to begin, the parties reached a settlement agreement and the case was dismissed on January 5, 2007. The documents given to us did not include any details about the settlement.
