Case Summary

In June 1996, the Alexandria and Richmond offices of the EEOC brought this suit against Arrow General, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. At the defendant's suggestion, the court stayed the suit until the resolution of the defendant's bankruptcy proceeding in February 1997. The court lifted the stay in May 1997; the case appeared to be settled and dismissed in March 1998. The EEOC filed a motion to hold the defendant in contempt or reinstate the action in April 2000, and the court reinstated the action. The case settled, and the court dismissed the case in March 2001. The settlement required the defendant to pay the claimants $16,250 in sum. No other information was made available pertaining to the nature of the suit or the settlement.
