Case Summary

The EEOC's St. Louis district office sued Colonial Management Group, L.P, the owner of a St. Louis health care facility, on February 15, 2001 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. The EEOC's complaint is unavailable, however the consent agreement, entered on June 3, 2002, briefly states that Colonial allegedly violated Title VII when it discriminated based on race. The consent decree stipulated that Colonial would pay the intervenor, who intervened in May 2001, $150,000 in costs and damages, revise its harassment policy, post a notice of compliance with Title VII and its harassment policy, distribute its harassment policy to employees, and provide Title VII compliance training.
