In August 1998, the EEOC district office in Los Angeles brought this suit against The Institute for Applied Behavioral Analysis in the U.S. District court for the Central District of California. Although the complaint is currently unavailable, the docket states that part of the settlement barred the defendant from discriminating against disabled employees. Therefore, it is highly likely that the suit was brought under the ADA. Two months after the defendant's answer, the parties settled in January 1999.
The settlement agreement is not currently available. The docket states that the defendant must pay the complainant $18,000 and refrain from discriminating against disabled employees or job applicants.
