In 1972, plaintiffs, represented by the Legal Aid Society of Omaha-Council Bluffs filed a class action suit on behalf of all present and future pretrial detainees of the Douglas County Jail in Omaha, Nebraska. The Court for the District of Nebraska (Judge Robert Denney) held that due to substantial remodeling of the courthouse jail, many of plaintiffs' issues were moot.
