The U.S. Department of justice brought this fair housing case in 2009 against the Missippi Regional Housing Authority on behalf of a resident who has mobility impairments and who was denied the reasonable accommodation of being placed in a ground floor unit. The case was brought in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
On March 26, the parties entered a Consent Decree, approved by the Court (Judge Louis Guirola, Jr.) which provided for extensive antidiscrimination reforms. The Consent Decree expired on March 26, 2012. Denise Heberle - 06/20/2012
