[This summary is temporary while we research the case.] This is a lawsuit in which the Iron Arrow Honor Society, an all-male honorary organization, sued the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The plaintiff filed suit in an attempt to prevent the Secretary from requiring the University of Miami to ban the organization from campus because of their membership policy, which excluded women. The case was filed on October 21, 1976, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
