Judge, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Illinois
Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on August 17, 1966, to a seat vacated by Casper Platt. Confirmed by the Senate on September 20, 1966, and received commission on September 21, 1966. Served as chief judge, 1972-1978. Assumed senior status on March 31, 1978. Service terminated on March 31, 1979, due to reassignment.
