Judge, U.S. District Court, District of Maryland
Received a recess appointment from Dwight D. Eisenhower on August 12, 1955, to a seat vacated by William C. Coleman; nominated to the same position by Dwight D. Eisenhower on January 12, 1956. Confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 1956, and received commission on March 2, 1956. Served as chief judge, 1970. Assumed senior status on August 11, 1971. Service terminated on March 19, 1986, due to death.
