Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Iowa
Nominated by Jimmy Carter on March 15, 1979, to a new seat authorized by 92 Stat. 1629. Confirmed by the Senate on May 10, 1979, and received commission on May 11, 1979. Served as chief judge, 1985-1992. Assumed senior status on December 29, 1996. Service terminated on July 23, 2016, due to death.
