Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on June 28, 1966, to a new seat authorized by 80 Stat. 75. Confirmed by the Senate on July 22, 1966, and received commission on July 23, 1966. Assumed senior status on December 25, 1982. Service terminated on October 27, 1990, due to death.
