Nominated by Harry S Truman on July 25, 1946, to a new seat authorized by 60 Stat. 654. Confirmed by the Senate on July 27, 1946, and received commission on July 31, 1946. Assumed senior status on January 1, 1957. Service terminated on December 22, 1963, due to death.
