Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on May 26, 1959, to a seat vacated by Sam M. Driver. Confirmed by the Senate on June 16, 1959, and received commission on June 17, 1959. Served as chief judge, 1959-1972. Assumed senior status on April 21, 1972. Service terminated on August 17, 1975, due to death.
